If you'd like to add volume and support to your skin, reduce deep lines and wrinkles, or smooth out the finer ones, injectable fillers in Reading and Lancaster can offer satisfying results. JUVÉDERM®, Sculptra®, Restylane®, and RADIESSE® are all available at The Spa at Spring Ridge, the medical spa at the Proserpi-Schlechter Center for Plastic Surgery, where experienced skin health professionals can help you select which one is right for you.

What distinguishes us from competitors is that only a board-certified plastic surgeon performs all injections. We do not use nurses, PA's, or anyone else to inject filler treatments. A plastic surgeon has specialized knowledge of the facial anatomy. Dr. Schlechter's knowledge of facial anatomy allows him to utilize filler products for maximum results. How They Work

Dermal fillers are injectable gels that fill and plump the skin to decrease wrinkles and enhance the look of the lips. Typical treatment areas include the curved lines that run vertically between the nose and the corners of the mouth (parentheses); and straighter lines that run from the corners of the mouth to the chin (marionette). But injectable fillers can also be used for other facial and neck wrinkles, lip enhancement, depressed scars, and even on the hands.

Your Choices

The Spa at Spring Ridge offers four top quality dermal fillers, each with different benefits and limitations. The choice that's right for you will depend on your unique skin condition, lifestyle, and the results you desire.

JUVÉDERM is brought to you by the company that makes BOTOX® Cosmetic. It's made with hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance that provides your skin with fullness and elasticity. Reading and Lancaster JUVÉDERM treatments add fullness and hydration to the deeper folds and wrinkles of the face and neck. It can also be used to plump the lips. Results are immediate and last from 9 to 12 months per treatment.

Sculptra is composed of poly-L-lactic acid, a synthetic material that is biocompatible and biodegradable. Sculptra was developed to restore or correct the facial fat loss that causes sunken cheeks, indentations in the temples, and hollow-looking eyes. Sculptra does not require a skin test and can last for 2 to 3 years. Sculptra requires up to a series of 3 treatments spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart.

Restylane is a top-selling dermal filler that, like JUVÉDERM, is also composed of hyaluronic acid. Results from Restylane treatments are immediate and generally last about 9 to 12 months.

RADIESSE is an injectable dermal filler made of calcium-based microspheres suspended in a water-based gel. Radiesse treatments add volume to your skin and stimulate your body to produce more collagen where it's needed, giving your face a smoother, more youthful look. Results can last up to a year.

What You Can Expect

Injectable treatments take only minutes and results will last for several months to a couple of years. Discomfort during and after treatment is minimal. Side effects are rare, but may include temporary swelling or mild bruising. Most people are ready to go right back to work or other regular activities immediately following their treatment. Our spa staff is available to provide camouflage makeup to cover any bruising that may occur.

We also offer nerve blocks to minimize patient discomfort during filler injections.
