Before Ideal Protein, my life was so boring due to my lack of energy and zeal for life. I would come home from work and just be exhausted from the day. I would sit on the sofa and wish dinner could make itself. I would get mad when I would go for a walk with my husband because I thought he walked too fast, but really I just couldn't keep up. I tried diets; I tried doing it on my own. I would lose a little weight and then gain it back again.

At my heaviest, I weighed over 300lbs! I couldn't believe that it happened. I just wanted to have my life back. I wanted to do things other people were doing and I was too self-conscious to do. I wanted to stop being the clown in the group so that people would like me, and just be me. I wanted to live and not die due to being unhealthy, overweight, and unable to be active.
My wake-up call was the day my husband told me that he didn't want to have children because he was fearful of being a single dad. The light bulb went on, and I knew he wasn't trying to hurt me but to motivate me and make me see that if I didn't do something, I would follow in my family's footsteps of a paternal grandfather, father and paternal uncle who all died early. One died in his 40's, and the other two in their 50's. Although they were not overweight, they had very bad heart health issues, which is where I would end up as well with being overweight and family genes.
I found out about Ideal Protein from a patient in the office I work at, and all I can say is GOD BLESS HER! I met Jennifer and I was thinking, "OK, I'll give this a shot and I just hope it works." I wanted it to work and I didn't want to fail.

I wanted to LIVE, and I wanted to be the person I knew was inside of me. I did not struggle with the diet at all. It is simple: you follow your sheets, and you stick with what your coach tells you, and you DO NOT CHEAT!!!! You can do it. I have been on the diet since April 16, 2010. I am currently in phase 3 of the plan and will be on maintenance by July 14, 2011.
As of today, I have lost 145 lbs., almost 1/2 of what I started at. I literally lost half of myself! I watched the pounds melt off. I did this with very little exercise, I have to admit. I did some walking, mountain biking and exercise DVD's at home, but only once I had lost a good deal of weight. I have this amazing energy that just doesn't quit. I want to do more and more and more, only there are not enough hours in the day now to do all the things I want to do. I walk in the Relay for Life, and this year I walked 22 miles! Unbelievable! The first year I did the relay prior to starting the diet, I walked 4 miles and felt like a truck hit me.

My mind is now catching up, and my life is centered and based on healthy food choices that keep me feeling full and giving me back the life I knew I was missing out on.

I am so thankful to the doctor who formulated this diet because I finally feel free, beautiful, and yes, ladies, even sexy for the first time in my life. I am turning 40 and feel like I am 20 again. It works; there is no other way to say it.
