COHERENT LIGHT SHEER HAIR REMOVAL

You may be surprised to learn that almost your entire body is covered with hair. But that being said, men and women both have areas of the body where hair appears that they don't like or expect. For women it is usually on the face, neck, abdomen, breasts, or arms. For men, trouble areas are generally the back, shoulders, around the ears, and between the eyebrows. In the past methods like plucking, shaving, waxing, or chemicals were used, but all are temporary. Electrolysis was used as a permanent means of hair removal but proved very slow and painful with side effects including electrical shock, infection, pitting or scarring.

Now there is a more effective solution. The LightSheer Diode Laser, a system specially designed to remove unwanted hair faster, less painfully, and much more reliably than electrolysis. This system allows for the treatment of a broad range of skin types. The ideal candidate is a patient who has light skin with dark hair, although, other combinations are successfully treated.

The LightSheer Diode Laser is a laser that produces a beam of highly concentrated light with a specific wavelength that is key in removing unwanted hair. The laser light is absorbed by the pigment located in the hair shaft which pulses just long enough to vaporize the pigment, which injures the hair follicle resulting in decreased hair growth. The advantage of the procedure is that many hair follicles are treated at one time, thus allowing for rapid treatment of a large area. Depending on the size of the area being treated, the procedure time ranges anywhere from a few minutes to an hour. Multiple treatments are typically necessary to achieve a long-lasting result. Though most patients tolerate the procedure well, topical anesthesia is always available.
